Against the killing of Anwar al-Awlaqi and others

John Bart Gerald argues that the recent US targeting for death of  an American civilian and cleric, imam Anwar al-Awlaki, challenges US military-related personnel with a patently unlawful order. Overtly marking for death an "inspirational" threat and  non-combatant raises questions about the US intelligence community's previously covert policy.
